The School
Victoria Walker Dance offers a friendly environment where children and adults can experience the enjoyment of dance and the performing arts in a professional environment.
We encourage our students to be creative and develop their own individuality, style and sense of performance, whilst establishing a strong dance technique.
Dance has many health benefits and is a fun way to keep fit and flexible for children and adults alike as well as making lifelong friends. We have classes to suit all ages and abilities.
Our biannual show at The Hawkswell Theatre as well as regular open classes and various other performance opportunities offers everyone a chance to perform.
Students are encouraged to take optional examinations in Ballet and Tap with the Royal Academy of Dance and Imperial Society Teachers of Dancing respectively and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (Tap), are followed. Pupils are entered when they have reached the standard required and on the understanding that they attend an extra class per week during the term of the examination. Examinations are not compulsory. Classes are also held in modern/jazz dance.
Students are encouraged to apply for auditions for a variety of dance opportunities when they arise.
We offer private tuition from ages 6+ including vocational dance school applicants, dancers participating in competitions and those auditioning. Victoria also offers coaching on careers for pre and professional dancers.
We teach in many primary and post primary schools including programmes for TY years and Active Programmes.
We also specialise in dance parties for all ages and occasions.
